STAGE 1 Upgrade
I'm bringing my '05 1200C in for Stage 1 upgrade. There are so many exhaust system out there to confuse me many times over .
I like the sound demonstrated by Vance and Hines for the sideshot
( http://vanceandhines.com/a102_sideshots_spr.html). However, I personally think the Sideshots take away the chrome look of the engine.
I welcome any suggestion on new pipes.....brand....slip-on....quiet baffles?

First, let me welcome you to the forum!!!
As far as pipes go, Cycle shack or Kromewerks slip-ons best bang for the buck. There's a thread on here with numerous exhaust sound clips so you can hear what the pipes sound like.

I love my sideshots! I can't compare them with others, 'cos I haven't tried - but I think they look fine with a black engine...

Hey New,
I have Screamin' Eagle mufflers on mine and I have been pretty happy. If I had it to do over again though, I might look at those Cycle Shaks...they have a deeper sound than my SE's.
I think Harley also has SE pro series mufflers out now, but I don't know if they sound any different. I'm sure someone here knows more about that stuff...
Good luck.

I don't use forwards, so I can't be certain - but here's a couple of picks which mught help you work it out. I can't see it being a problem myself.

I originally bought screaming eagles, but I was disappointed in the sound. I'm one of those that believe loud pipes are safer. I bought Cycle Shack slip-ons for alot less than I spent on the Se's and they sound great.
Just a warning, they seems to be on back order quite a bit, but I bought mine on Ebay without a problem.
