Thanks, but its not your fight and probably best to not get involved..... but if you do stop by there, let him know that Warren in Toronto (ebay user name diapsid) has posted about how Rob's has screwed him out of $200 and there have been over 600 views, meaning potentially 600 lost sales.
April 1 - 54 negatives, 46 neutrals for a one year period

Paypal sent me an email today about how protected I am using their service...they hit a nerve with that so I phoned them, took about 15 minutes to get through but I got someone and yes, the 45 day period is long gone but they will contact the seller about it and see where it goes from there. Because my Paypal went through my bank rather than my credit card, it might be possible to have the charges reversed if my bank does cover such things, then the bank goes after Paypal, Paypal goes after the seller.
I had something similar happen with another ebay seller when buying wheels for a Streetfighter project years ago and after the 45 day period just gave up, out hundreds. Wish Paypal had sent me promo email back then to get me worked up enough about it to call them then!

Most banks do cover this, it would involve you putting in writing exactly what happened and asking them to "charge back" to you what you paid.
A few times I've had to do this, my bank "conditionally" put the money back into my account, then the bank sends to the POS vender a copy of your letter and usually a two week time frame to reply. If the POS doesn't reply, or replies in a way that the bank doesn't "accept", then the bank sends you a letter that the "conditional" charge back is permanent! Good luck!

I'm going to give it a few days and see if Paypal contacting them does anything. If not, then I will see my bank and let them go after them.

Man, why wait for Paypal?! I would be calling my bank now if I were you and see what they can do.

I was thinking about ordering a set of pegs from them to match my grips and was thinking the same thing.
Now that I see this thread, I think I'll just shop elsewhere.

I was looking at there goods just the other day glad i stalled from buying from them. Although other friends in the uk dont seem to have an issue.
I know in the uk were always avised to use our credit card if its over £100.
Im sure the banks over here dont get involved with issues like that.
I personally wouldnt let it go.
Keep pestering them and hopefully they'll get fed up with it and sort it for you mate.
Good luck

I sent them back towards the end of Nov.2010 got confirmation they received them and ordered something else off their web site. Waited, nothing. Many emails, most not replied to, some replied to with "part is back ordered, or who were you talking to, and have nothing here about that". Sent another email last week and got the reply "we don't carry the part you ordered, I have no record of parts returned and who were you talking to". I forwarded all correspondence we've had through ebay to them, waited, no reply. Emailed again a few days ago no reply.
So I'm out the cost of the junk Custom Chrome forward controls, plus shipping 2 ways. At first I thought they were just busy and maybe disorganized, or just plain stupid. They have been stalling and stretching this out so long, ebay and Paypal won't help, and hopefully I will just go away.
I don't expect to ever see any parts or money from them, just be warned.
As of today they've had in the past year 12472 positive transactions, 40 neutrals, and 43 negatives. Overall that's a lot of transactions, but still 83 unhappy customers is still 83 unhappy customers.

Just a couple of thoughts.
In this case do a credit card charge back immediately. Don't wait for eBay / PayPal. The time to do this is limited.
In the future:
I have had pretty bad luck with Custom Chrome parts no matter who I bought them from. IMO CC sells at least some parts that are junk. I no longer buy Custom Chrome parts. Consider doing the same.
When you talk to a vendor on the phone about a problem take a few notes: What they said, who said it and when they said it. Try to always get a return authorization number.
When you return something send it with tracking and include a polite letter including the information from above. (Keep a copy).
Give them a couple of days after they have received it. If you don't hear from them call them. Take notes as before. What they said, who said it and when they said it. Summarize this conversation in a letter, attach a copy of the first letter and mail it to the vendor regardless of what they promised good or bad. If they promised to do what you think is right fine. If you are unsatisfied immediately file a NAD (not as described) with eBay. If you paid with a credit card contest the charge. I do both, Ebay and PayPal well known for their incompetence relying on them is a little fool hardy.
I buy and sell literally thousands of things on line. The vast majority of the time probably % 99.99 of the time things work out fine. The rest of the time either due to human error or misunderstanding (theirs or mine) good written communication solves the problem. On extremely rare occasions I have to drop the bomb on someone by doing a CC charge back.
For what it's worth. I realize that it's tempting to blow a gasket and tell someone off but I avoid it. Usually the poor guy or gal that has to answer the phone doesn't make policy. Why ruin their day?
At present vendors owe me $1885. I can assure you that everything is documented and I'll get every penny of my money back.
Good luck

Ozark, thanks for your input and suggestions. First problem is funds came from my bank, not off my credit card, so I will be going back to the bank see if they will do a charge back.
I did send the package back with a tracking number so I do have confirmation they received it, plus an email from them saying they got it.
I'm letting Paypal contact them, but they carry no weight now that the 45 days have passed, maybe Rob's don't want to have any ebay/paypal problems and might straighten it out, though I doubt it, and I will see if the bank can help next week.
...and, I will never even consider buying another Custom Chrome part.
