I too have the same setup as you did before all this. But I need to tune it better as I only got 73hp and 66tq vs your 80hp/79tq. So which baffle were you running in the Caliber pipes? Mine came with a 1"3/4 and 2". My #'s were with the smaller baffle.
Next Q, why the swap from the TC88a to the IST? I thought they were the same thing just different labeling.
Oh I almost forgot, last Q, why the new heads? Yours were just as good as base units as the Buels.

F.w.i.w. the tc88a is a fixed map, where as the I.S.T. is an auto mapping unit, not even close to being the same. Scott: Motor mods looking real good, let me know how the I.S.T. performs for you. I'm curious how it would show on a dyno as it is constantly learning and making running corrections on the fly. Also, keep in mind that it will come with a 6,100 rev limit from S&S, this is to facilitate break in. The limit can be raised after your break in period.

I just read through this thread for the first time scott. As everyone has already noted you went the extra mile in many ways. Like everyone else, I am curious as to how the cams you and Len are running are going to work out.
I doubt either of you are likely to run into another street sportster with as much steam. Neither of you skimped on the supporting cast. I look forward to hearing how it runs. steve

Educate me on this ignition system. Apparently I have been living in a cave. Presumably it incorporates some sort of knock sensing auto retard? steve

S&S have this ignition for a long time. My neighbor run one on a FX 100ci since 2001, no problem.
