Sweet!
Watching the videos, it appears your three launches were a bit different (basing that on when and where the front tire lifted). But your times seem fairly consistent. I know nothing about drag racing, so I'm just curious if what I perceive is true.

Its funny you ask that! We went to the track this time and I put a corbin gunfighter on to keep my azz from sliding off and we strapped the front end down with only about 2" of travel. The bike has the tall forks with about 6" of travel. The first outing this year was like trying to launch a pogo stick/unicycle cause all the thing wanted to do is wheelie out of the hole and in second gear. The first 2 passes friday I had great launches but with the front end strapped hard and my crappy factory tire i blew the tire off spinning in 2nd and 3rd gear. Never had that happen, combo of a crappy tire and some power.
So, we took the strap off and i made 2 passes in the 11.8s just like last time with high 1.8 60's. We took a quick break, thought about it, I wanted to leave cause I was p.o. lol. Then my buddy said lets try just strapping it a little bit, heat your tire up good, and maybe it will work with your crappy tire, by this time some cars had been down the track to get the rubber laid down.
Best times a few weeks ago was 11.8s, so my goal was to get into the 11.70s, and beat my personal best of 11.79.
Next pass down the track was an 11.65. with a 1.70 something 60', I stopped on pit road to get my ticket, the run felt good, and it said 11.65, I about shxt myself!!!!!! Totally skipped over the 11.70 club.lol
I ran one more pass as the bike was and went 11.62. So the last 4 or so passes we just kept giving the tie down strap more tension. And my times dove into the 11.50's...I was freaking pumped.
Anyhow, the lanches were different for a few reasons, 1 is im an amature hour drag racer, 2, I was trying to stay up on the tank and come out as hard as i could without wheel standing or chopping the throttle. No tach, trying to launch at same rpm, or raise your rmps is kind of hard.
Hope that kind of explains the launches.
I think the bike might have 11.40's in it. The air temp was 88 degrees and i believe i can cut a high 1.60 60' . As I have did that a couple of times before.
Thanks to all on the forum for the great tips and advice!

Thanks for sharing the rest of the story behind those time slips! That's great. It's cool to hear what was working (and what wasn't).
I've never been down a drag strip, but I can't imagine even trying without a tach! So, kudos to you for the improvements you've made despite not having a tach.

Thanks Dan, The purpose of this build of mine was to make a streetable 100 hp bike on pump gas that is friendly to drive on the street and yet keep the cost down with performance parts.
The second part was to break into the 11.70's and run a consistant 11.70 when i go to the track which is about 3 to 5 times a year.
And also to run down the strip without a whole mess of drag racing parts installed to help it out, wheelie bars, air shift, aftermarket suspension, tach, tires, lighter wheels, ect.
I wanted to prove to myself that i could do it, challenge myself, and i finally accomplished it after several years of messing around. Not too many guys on this forum or in general like to drag race at the strip a lot. So if any thing else i hope to help out anybody else or some of the younger guys without a lot of experience drag racing that you can have a street bike without tons of money and make that sucker scoot down the track.
But dont get me wrong.....lol.....Ill be throwing a tach on with good tires and suspension up front and rear this winter. haha
I spent a lot of years messing with sprockets, forks, tires, tire pressure, shift points, launch techniques, timing, bla bla bla. This time around clean, simple, fun and fast.

Extra cudos to you for doing it without a tach.
I have done some 1/8 street racing here in Norway where the police gave permission to close of the street and the Am-car club brought their timing ecuipment/trees and itīs a lot of fun.
But I shurely was glad to have a tach to preventing me from hitting the limiter, cos that will cost you.

Yeah, it was. One of the bike cops even had a go on the BMW K1200RS
Sadly the rules have gotten a bit stricter so not so easy anymore to get permisson.
Couldnīt find any deacent vids though on Youtube for you. But I found this from the car event, same place, the road in the Mall area of Trondheim.
