There is a plate mounted to the frame and then the 1/2 X 1/2 mount comes off from the plate and the female foot peg mounts to that

they mount to the frame plate like the highway pegs do

Threaded hole on the motor mount side. Like a passenger peg extension, but threaded so a bolt goes through the motor mount and into the extension. Not hard to make a longer extension with square bar, dril/tap, and bent to shape with heat. The issue will be the amount of flex you will get the farther they extend away from the mount. My friend had that set and bent the shift side when he hit a pig pot hole in the road and slammed his weight against them. We changed them to the style I have. Kinda like the stock HD parts, but aftermarket. i never investigated if we could bridge the 2 sides together with all thread and a pipe or if I could drill them deeper and use a longer bolt to increase its rigidity. A larger diameter bar and larger bolt would work, and you cut/grind/machine down the peg perch area to mount the peg.

I tried to add a spacer between the frame plate to the 1/2 X 1/2 mount but could not get long enough hardened bolts ! that's why I am looking for Longer Foot pegs ! now this is what the guy at work made for me it's too long and the wrong diameter

you could do the same thing with a piece of pipe though. That would allow you to determine the length you want. And then cover it with a bit of leather, groove it with a grinder for o rings....
