New York City Cops Random Bike Stops
SO 2 days in a row I got pulled over for nothing, seems all month the NYPD will be doing random Motorcycle and Scooter stops. Both cops told me this,, the first one was a dick and gave me a $90 ticket for not wearing goggles, sunglasses arnt enough in NYC it seems, then today I got no ticket. So if you are in the city make sure your legit. at least this month. Both stops were in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

Yeah, I'd fight that ticket. I can't even fit goggles with my 3/4 helmet...
Do the NYPD motorcycle cops wear goggles?

They most likely wear full face helmets. Not that I have a clue being in Washington. But most every mounted cop I've seen in recent years is wearing a full face so, it'd be a moot point.

+1 to all the guys who said fight it.
That's a BS law and I got a ticket for that 40 years ago and I went out and had my glasses tested to prove that they were safety glass, and went in with that certification in hand and beat it. At the very least you can make them waste court time and show them it's not profitable to screw with people.

I'd fight that ticket too, but I fight every ticket I get because if I'm paying a fine, the township is paying too. And here in Philly, the bike cops ware 3/4 helmets with sunglasses or clears

Well.... they've been stopping and frisking people for being black in NYC for years... surprised it took this long to stop and frisk bikers.
When I was a kid riding in So Cal I was stopped on a weekly basis... they would then go over the bike until they found something wrong.
Education and proper evaluations of those entering LE should probably be expanded... way too many cowardly sociopaths in LE these days...
