Default Hello from NC

Two weeks ago, after a beautiful 400+ mile day on my '99 BMW R1100S, I came around a corner too hot and came close to seriously hurting/killing myself. Fortunately, I had a BMW mechanic interested/asking to buy my bike so I called him and sold 6/4. 6/7 I purchased a '06 XL1200R (I had been admiring R's for a few months). After two weeks of riding, I finally came to the realization that even though it's light years behind the engineering that went into the BMW, I was going to keep it because it's just fun to ride.

I've turned about 600 miles on the bike, and I've already ordered a set of Progressive shocks to help smooth things out.

So, after 30yrs of owning different bikes, the entire time swearing I'd never own a Harley, why do I love this little sporty soo much?

Glad you came on board. Has it accured to you the reason Harley hasn't used all the new technology. It's simply NOT needed. Sometimes KISS is the best way.

I am in that same boat. I always owned Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda. I never wanted a Harley, but always wanted a Sportster. Then, after being away from bikes for about 15 years, I got the itch again. A little over a year ago, I finally got my Sportster...an '02 883 Hugger. I'm convinced it's the most fun you can have and still have your clothes on.....
