Default Battery Cover

Anyone else out there have problems with your battery cover not latching on the top latch? I recently replaced my battery and after everything was buttoned up my battery cover keeps coming undone and dangling by the bottom hook.

Try using some plastic ties to keep it attached and from falling along the road side.

I think 90% of the rubbermount sportsters in use today have zip-tied battery covers. Mine's no exception. It should be considered party of a stage 1 now. Air cleaner, exhaust, and a handful of zip-ties.

At least you have a bottom hook. When the rubbsters came out in 04, they were blowing off down the road.

First thing I did when I brought the Sporty home was to put a zip tie through the battery cover. The King Cobra seat I recently put on the bike holds the battery cover nice and snug... still use the zip though...
