Default 69ch update

Installed a new clutch, cable, slapped on a mirror and headed off to the state title office. Old girl running great, clutch shifting smooth as silk, had a very slight flat spot while pulling in the 3000 rpm range (estimate) but only for a second then engine would roar and accelerate quickly. Title office is 10 miles up the road and got to get her up over 65 mph (estimate) for 3 or 4 miles. Pulled up to the office to find a big sign saying office closed indefinitely due to water damage. Got back on the bike kicked her twice and headed back home. She ran great, have a bit of shuttering in the front brake (I changed out shoes a few weeks ago during fork fix), not sure exactly what's causing this but I'll investigate. So I got to get a good 20 miles on the bike (without a tag) and it felt great. Thanks to everyone who's been helping me along.

Glad to hear things went well with the ride. Did you brake in the new pads?? A couple of hard stops from 50 or so?

Also, I rode down the registrar’s office about 8 years ago to do the same thing and got stopped. Of course I was allegedly speeding.

I told the officer the gravitational pull of the moon was accelerating me without my knowledge. He was still chuckling when he handed me my very own ticket to see the inner workings of the county court house!

here's another thought that i've,been keeping to myself, tiderider. someone carved that rear fender up to the bottom of the fender struts. if that bike was to have an,unmolested rear fender, you wouldn't notice the gap between the tire, and fender. i,remember you mentioning replacing the 16'',wheel,with an,18''. i,always thought the 16'',wheel was an,improvement. i've,been running one on mine for,30 +years.

Naw the fender is right, I still have the 16 inch wheel and 14.5 inch shocks installed, lots of light between the tire and fender. I have an 18 inch wheel to mount, I just haven't had a chance. The fender is in the exact same position as my 72.

They look the same and both fenders are unmolested.
here's my 72 with an 18 inch wheel

Kind of the same fender to strut as my 69

I've looked the fender over well, it hasn't been cut of modified.

the shuddering front brake may be a bit of a project if that a/m front rim is on there because the oem got dent damaged.

in these cases the orig spokes passed the rim damage into the right hand side of hub. distorting the drum from round.

this may also be accompanied by cracks in hub flange raditing outward from the spoke holes. cracks can be on either flange
