Default 21 inch rear rim Anyone done this?

On the fence between a hardtail of flatracker. I am leaning toward the flatracker look and wanting to mount a double star 21" rim on the rear. I have a 2001 xlc and took some measurements looks like the rim should clear. I would like to know the stock axle size and which rim would work? I think I could pull it off without extending the swingarm .Thanks for your help. Curtis

Any pics of this done would be great!

Remember when taking measurements of the swing arm clearances to add some for tire expansion at speed. Centrifugal forces make the tire get a bigger circumference.

While laid off I worked on a Ninja 750. The kid that owned it put a bigger rear tire on. It had a good inch of clearence, but the tire still burned thru the plastic fender. Took some explaining to get the kid to understand.

I've seen it on other Harley's but never yet on a Sportster. A wheel that tall will raise your seat height unless you make other changes.
My old Vincent had a 19 on the back, and a 20 on the front, as the designers believed that more or less equal sized wheels (the rear tire was slightly wider) gave better handling.

I really dig the look with the 21s out front and back.
