I am starting to enjoy the sweeping turns over the twisties. Never thought I would say that. Must be age related.
As for George, maybe he likes a clean bike, but does not want to clean it?! But, I would miss wind in the face, "riding" just on the dyno

You do realize if you had just done that the first day you started this thread it would be done by now and have taken less time than all the posts you have made... (Slap!)...
We need Nigel to come in here and tell you... "On your bike dude".
You're in danger of getting on my "list" right alongside rocketmangb.

IF...repeat IF...repeat IF the bike ran....it would be a piece of cake.......but seeing as it won't even turn over after being on the tender for two weeks.............
Besides....got my local CarQuest buddy bringing one in to look at for $62. If it lasts 4 years.....I'm still money ahead!

I'd give you rep for humor, but you already have such a stack of it!

I called the Shorai guys. They use a different lithium compound, so catching fire is not a problem. They said do not use a trickle charger because they will let the voltage drop too low before switching on. Do not use a charger with de-sulfide mode. The Shorai lithium battery can sit for a year, if the bike does not have a current drain. So the only time you need their specific charger is if the battery is sitting for long periods of time. You do not want the lithium battery to drop below 13.2 Volts, which means you don't want to leave the head light on and drain the battery dead. If your bike has been sitting for months, you can use a standard 2 amp battery charger to top it off the day before you ride.

I understand a "tender" is OK though.

Don't you have any hills in Indiana? This would be a win/win... You get the exercise of pushing it up a steep hill, then you jump on it, kick it up into third and let the clutch out. Then next time you push it up the hill, you will probably remember to turn the key on too.
Take tools with ya and put the battery in at the shop.
Actually, you could have walked there by now, even drunk and taking two steps forward ond one back for every step.
Hey, to get serious for a second here... Have you tested this battery? Could the problem be a bad cable, bad connection, etc? I would think that you should have got it charged to the point that it would have done something otherwise. If you remember back a couple of years ago I chased problems like this, and they were all ground related, bad cable, bad connection, and two corroded lugs on the harness grounds. So... Since you can't ride right now anyway, it's something to be checking.

Last time I rode it I had to have three YOUNG...Strong boys push start me!
Checked it today.....showing 12.4 volts......hooked the tender up and it immediately went up over 13 volts.......unhooked the tender and it started dropping voltage immediately! It is 8 years old. I sure hope it's just the battery. Not ready to start chasing electrical gremlins..........unless maybe Scott sends Legs over for motivation!
