Default Mileage With Carby 3.3 Gal Tank

And for you owners of carby bikes with 3.3 gal tanks, how far can you go on the 3.3 gal tank before you have to fill up?

two people have voted <90 miles. If you can't get more than 90 miles without running out of gas, something is wrong. That's less than 27 miles a gallon. I get 40-50 miles per gallon, depending on my riding habits, and I think I'm on the low side and that I'm losing efficiency somewhere.

Heavy throttle...80-90 miles

Highway and two lane roads traveling...110-130 miles

Most traveled for carbed 3.3 gallon tank is about 130 miles + another 25-30 miles on reserve, but never pushed that issue, always find petrol soon after switching to reserve..

Ride Safe!

Sportsters are like prison shanks, small..fast..DEADLY!

When life throws a curve...lean into it and open the throttle.

The wheels beneath me, the road ahead of me..These are the reason's why I ride!!

Using Ethanol blend fuel is another mileage factor too..I've noticed less overall mileage with ethanol blends, but I try to use name brand filling stations when filling up, none of that cheap shit from Sam's Club!

Running around 50 mpg. I assume you mean just before you have to push it home so I'm over 150 miles to a tank.

2.586 is the amount of gallons you'll use before switching to reserve

2.586x50 mpg = 129 miles total before reserve

For me it depends on what gas I put in. If I put in Exxon/mobil 125-130 b4 reserve no matter how I ride. Sunco, shell or anything else 110-115 b4 reserve.

I'm gonna hold off voting and maybe on my next tank actually wait till I hit reserve. I tend to fill up well before I need it, just to make sure I always have gas in the tank. I have gone as far as 120, though, and still had about 0.9 gallons left in the tank based on what it took to fill up.
