Congratulations! Unlike Sportsters, there is no manual for kids. What you are going through is totally normal. It is OK to have some fear of the unknown. What I can assure you of, and I believe most parents here will back me up, is that when the kid eventually comes, you will have these reservoirs of ability that you're not even aware of right now. You will be different in ways that you cannot now predict and cannot later explain. You will love it and will not be able to imagine how it was before this. It's all good my friend. I am happy for you.

Work a 2nd job for a few
months while she is expecting and stash the cash for the un-forseen. When they are tiny life is easier. I had my daughter when I was about to turn 40...she's now 13...turns 14 in December. I wish you the best and congrats. Just try to concentrate on getting ahead at work and making momma comfortable. I hope you got good health insurance.
Life has it's twists. I had to file for divorce in Dec '06 because her mother was / is harmful to my health. I love my daughter and the though stuff really starts at 13. I try to be there as much as possible and meet as many of her friends as I can. The boys who try to hang with her get my attitude about me being an overprotective father and what I WILL do to them. After all I am the one mothers warned their daughters about years ago, so I know what those little toads are about.

Step back..... Take a deep breath....
This is like many things in life where if you waited until you thought you were ready, it would likely never happen. Being a parent is a lot of responsibility no doubt. But it is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. And you will keep believing that right up to the teenage years, followed by the thought of why did this ever happen. :-)
So along with everyone else, congrats are in order. If I had to offer one thing, I would say wherever this journey takes you, enjoy every minute. I was around your age, so looking back I am glad that I did that. Hold that baby when it gets here as much as you can, and love on them as much as you can too. They grow up too fast, and you cannot turn back time.

It sounds like you are going into extreme fear baby mode........going to have to sell the sporty to buy baby stuff.......no no no....highly unlikely !! And nobody is judging you at all. If you wait until the time is right you'll just never have children. Relax...................it'll be OK. It'll be just fine. Don't even worry about your Sporty.............
Congrats to you and your wife. Children are awesome.

Ok I just went through this. Well not just mine is 14 months old now. She turned 1 year old 6 days before my 30th B-day and I felt the same as you. Just take a deep breath and relax. It took me over a month to get used to the idea and for the shock to wear off. And I had assumed she was pregnant 2 weeks before she knew. Something about seeing the test brings the reality to it. The time waiting on the baby is plenty enough to get ready. Even on modest wages we were more then ready to go before the baby arrived. Now that doesn't mean to expect to have everything you need before the baby arrives. There are some things you won't realize you need until...well until you need them. lol I know thats redundant but its true. Just make sure you have the basics before the baby arrives and you are good. As someone else said work a second job or extra hours and save all the money you can during the pregnancy. It won't kill you if you don't have it but it will ease your mind a bit if you have the extra padding in the bank once the kid is born. And don't feel bad about bringing up the "A" word. I did as well even though I would never truly want to do that. Being a parent now is a great thing and it is very natural you always see the mothers instinct crap well believe it or not us dads have it as well. You will do just fine. Once the shock wears off you will find that the pregnancy can be quite a bit of fun to with picking out names and later on when you can feel the baby moving. Watch out for the mood swings late in pregnancy and just remember its not her fault...its the hormones. So if shes in a bad or whiny mood take it easy and be there to support her. It will make your relationship better and she will thank you for it later.

You will never regret it....EVER! You will be blessed with a wonderful child. Embrace it!
This coming from a father of two teens.
Oh, btw, your sporty makes for a great diaper run! Hehehe, you'd be suprised how much you need it now more than ever. ( Just a fathers point of view)

I am the "father" of a 19 month old boy, who's mother I am marrying next month. I met her weeks after finding out she was pregnant with him and his father freaked and left her at the hospital. Talk about stepping into this and not being ready. But like many here have said, it's amazing how natural being the dad comes. I can honestly say that it has been the most rewarding experience in my life (and I won't lie, probably the most frusterating and tiring).
Stick in there. The second you see the look in that baby's eyes, all of your priorities will change. What was so important before is just extra.
And might I add she's 20 and I'm 23. If a couple of punk kids can handle it, you should be fine. Babies are alot tougher than you'd think!

All will be OK.....
I was 19 when my first came into this world....and was 28 when the last one came in. NONE were planned, now I have a beautiful 18 year old daughter and 2 boys (10 & 11) I wouldn't trade for anything.
I was absolutely broke when my daughter was born and we made due, and she wanted for nothing. She starts college this fall.
Fatherhood has kept me alive, as I am sure if it wasn't for the kids and a loving 2nd wife I would surely be pushing up daisies.
The 2nd job is not a bad idea. Stash some money away, diapers are expensive.
It is the most rewarding thing you will ever do in your life, just remember that a provider doesn't necessarilly make a father. We were all scared when we found out about our first child.
And you don't have to sell your bike, especially if it's paid for. Just remember to ride safe, you are not the only one you have to worry about anymore.
You will be OK.........
