Alright guys, peanut or not to peanut?
Ive been wrestling a while on getting 2.25 peanut tank for my scoot, but i keep hitting one snagging thought. I really like the look of the peanut tank when its on a nice straight and slanted frame, but on a 1200C like mine it certainly wont have that same feel. The tanks are pretty cheap around these parts so i guess i could get one and it it didn't work out just flip it, but I'm really on the fence.
So what say you guys, should i just get one and try it out, or just stick to what i got? I like the look of my bike now don't get me wrong, but seeing picture after picture of really nice custom painted peanuts, I get jealous. It's that or finally get some turn signals going...
Minus a headlight lift, here's how she stands now:

I love the looks of my peanut tank, but it will make you mental on a long cruise. I took mine 1700 miles to Sturgis and back and had to stop every 55 miles for gas. I carried an extra gallon in a saddlebag just in case.
I have been toying with swapping mine out, but then I cathc a glimpse of the bike sitting there and realize how good it looks the way it is.

If your only getting 55 miles out of a 2.25 tank then you have problems, i can get almost 100 miles out of mine with a reserve...

Peanut Tank is the only way to go on a sportster! yeah you don't get to far, but unless your sporty is a cruiser your probably not going to go too far anyways. I get 150 miles at least on my Bike.

On a skinny bike, the 2.2 is the way to go. I get about 100 miles out of mine on the highway. Classic looks, baby!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.

"So do we pass the ghosts that haunt us later in our lives; they sit undramatically by the roadside like poor beggars, and we see them only from the corners of our eyes, if we see them at all. The idea that they have been waiting there for us rarely crosses our minds. Yet they do wait, and when we have passed, they gather up their bundles of memory and fall in behind, treading in our footsteps and catching up, little by little."
