Tuner, Breather, Exhaust...but wait
First off...I'm new here so don't kill me for asking this stuff. I've used the search religiously but going through pages and pages of threads is mind-numbing.
I have a 2010 IRON 883n...just bought it a week or two ago and love it. Went with the 883 for the price and the looks of the flatblack and mag wheels over the nightster. I planned from the second I signed the check that I would be doing power mods very soon after.
So now to my question...I want to start doing some bolt on items before moving into the 883-1250 conversion (planning NRHS). I see that almost everybody recommends the 2-1 exhaust systems for making power, and as far as looks go I love the looks of the V&H Comp exhaust but I never hear it mentioned when talking about power.
For the breather...the 'Big Sucker' is what I'm leaning towards simply because I can fashion up the outer circle in whatever color suits my fancy, and it should function fine.
So to the real question....what tuner would be my best option to handle the upgraded breather/exhaust for now....and still be there for me once I do the 1250 conversion....I mean, I don't plan on jumping right into the engine of the bike, but it will be done sooner or later...and I don't want to have to get another tuner later on
any comments or links to threads of a thousand other guys asking this question would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome from the uk. Like you, I've been researching the knowledge of all the guys and girls on here for similar mods for my 2010 sporty. From what I can make out if you plan on modding at your own pace, the power commander is your best bet as it allows for continual tweaking to match what you do. Bit more expensive than a fuelpak, but allows much more adjustment.
There are other options, and someone with loads more knowledge than me will be along soon ;-) in the meantime enjoy your ride

There's 10 answers to this question.
IMO buy the PC V with the auto tune.

For a lot of technical issues, the SERT from www.mastertune.net is the best option. Don't tell them I sent you though.

Bling, bragging rights, silky smooth power delivery, a little more peak power, violent power delivery,
traction or wheelie limited acceleration, a sound that just drips testosterone or peace of mind that
everything is as perfect as you know how to make it.
When the racers get done doing the impossible the engineers get a chance to correct the errors in the model.

I have 2:1's on mine with the Big Sucker and a PCV. Had to get the map tweaked a little by DynoJet and now it runs fine.

really appreciate the responses so far guys...and quick too
still have a q???....maybe I should explain further...how come the part #'s are different for the 883 and 1200 tuners? What will happen when I buy an 883 tuner and convert to a 1250?
I looked at the power commander, but the website says the PCV is 'under development' for 2010 883's. If this is already out there could someone point me to a link with some reading info
and to 'whittlebeast'...thanks for the link

No one mentions the V&H pipes with major mods because they make mediocre pipes that do not perform well enough. More than one person on here with highly modified motors that should have made 100 HP only put out power in the mid 80s with V&H pipes. You are doing the right thing by researching well before buying your parts. Take some time to read the dyno chart reference sticky for specific builds.

Not sure on the differences between 883 and 1200 pcv, however it has been posted on here that pcv's for 2009 bikes will work on 2010 sportys. According to an email from dynojet to one of the forum members, they are only changing it due to the ECM relocation on the new bikes.
Also whittlebeast is your man for info on tuners. I've read lots of his posts on them and he's tested them all with graphs to show power output, temperatures, the whole 9 yards. Think of him as the yoda of efi :-)
