Default tapping after oil change HELP?

Put another 50 miles on this afternoon and came back to change oil everything fine, atotal of about 175 miles on conversion. drained while hot changed filter , filled with 2050 hd oil cranked up and have a tapping in top end. Let run few seconds and cut off, tried again few seconds same, put old filter back on because it was hd and the new one was from napa ,cranked again same tapping on topend . I am afraid to leave running to long as to mess something up. I have changed it at least 20 times before with no problems. Help me out guys I won't be able to sleep tonite untill I can talk to someone at the shop that did the conversion tomorrow.

did you have a tapping before the oil change? is the tapping extremly more apparent? are you just wanting to hear something different (not trying to be an ass) but sometimes (me incld) after any conversion or major work try listen for every thing even the slitest noise difference. What kinda conversion?

Did you burp the oil sytem like it says to in the manual?

Sorry I just noticed you had a Buell, not sure if burbing is the same on yours as my 96 xlh.

Patty,

I responded to your PM a couple of days ago but haven't yet heard back from you. It sounds like oil pump cavitation to me. When changing our oil, we should always fill our filters with oil before installing and also burp our oil drain line of air (by letting a letting a little oil drain out) after we have filled the oil tank with oil.

I see. We didn't know what your level of experience was so we were looking for the simple things. The noise must have started coincidentally with the oil change.
