Don't take this the wrong way Stick Man but you're trying to sell a dented tank and a dented fender. What would you pay for them? You have to look at both sides of the coin. Like Ferrous said it will cost more to fix the dents in the tank then the tank is worth.

Don;t throw it out, offer it to the guys here for 50 bucks plus shipping...someone will take it. The market for common parts (like tins) is crap. Craigs list is where people look to buy shit REAL CHEAP. I've had very bad experiences selling on Craigs list.

I had a good run with E Bay in the Past, sold a Bone Stock 69 CH frame for $400 bucks,
I used Flat Rate US Mail for the smaller items with no issues..
Found a Cherry 72 H on Craigslist for $2,500 a few years back then re sold it,
Now I wished I kept it as a good IH all around as it had kick and electric.
One Guy screwed me on EBay with a Motor all epoxied up! claimed he had no idea..
use Pay Pay for Big Ticket Items....

Give it away on this or other forums either free or for just shipping cost. There are guys out there who may put the junk to good use.

It's only junk if you can't fix it. If you have to pay someone by the hour to fix something (like dents), it becomes junk pretty quick

Craigslist is a waste of time.I have tried listing stuff there for a long time with no good results. You will get more crack pot calls than anything else.I'm not promoting ebay but that is the place to list it if you really want a chance to sell it.Price it low and you might just be surprised at what happens. If it does'nt sell offer to help a brother with shipping cost only for the part. There are alot of good riders that are suffering because of the economy and need a little help on thier bike project. It'll come back to ya in the long run!

Here's my stuff:

tank- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT

other tank - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT

old seat and sissy - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT

front and rear fender - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT

Is is safe too assume this stuff is worthless and can be thrown out (exception being gas tanks i think no)?

PS I once sold a dented Honda VF gas tank dented for like 70 bucks. And now knowing what I know about bondo would have gladly bought one and bondoed and painted it rather than pay 500 dollars for either new or body shop.

don't worry about insulting me i really just wasnt to thow this stuff out.
