XLF Photo of the Week 5/11/9 Khaskins

Khaskin's has a bike that really inspired me to do a few mods to my own ride. It's been looking good for years and Karl really put the modifications into turbo mode in the past few months. Here he is in his own words:

I purchased my 2006 883L in March 2006, after recooperating from a mild heart attack. I decided that I was not going out yet and took the plunge.

I replaced the AC with a HD SE kit and bought the V&H Side Shots in the first week. Drag bars and riser soon after. Discovered the Xlforum in August 2006 and have not stopped modding my bike since.

The motor is still stock and may stay as an 883 until the top end needs work. I love my 883 and it has never left me stranded or wishing I'd bought another bike.

I always really liked looking at this scoot in the sig in your posts. It's a really clean appearance with nice bike lines and nice mixture of black and chrome. Really easy on the eyes. NICE WORK!

I agree, my favorite new mod he's done is that rear tail light. Anyone know what brand/model it is? Really gives that custom look - and still all the ammenaties of a solid late-model bike...

Paulie, Try taking a 1929-1931 Ford Model A taillight. You will have to make a bracket which is no big deal. I had one on my knuckle back in the early 1960's. After market Model A taillights are fairly cheap. A company by the name of Bob's Model A or something like that comes to mind. On the other hand go to your local junk yard or one that has medium to large trucks and look to see what kind of tail light they have and adapt it to your scoot. Back in the 1960's we used to use '59 Cadillac tail lights and made buckets to mount the tail light in. Try looking at using some of the LED tail lights available. There has to be a zillion possibilities using them.

I've admired the clean look of this bike for a while now. The Hooker Header eyes on the oil tank looking at the Hooker Header exhaust is pretty cool.

I hate to say it, but I don't think the tail light fits this bike IMHO...:geek:geek:geek

Definitely a retro light but NOT a retro bike. I would go with a set of bullets and the "nightsterized" tail-turn-brake setup for this cruizer...:smoke
