Many people with NETSCAPE, COMPUSERVE, OPTONLINE or EXCITE email accounts are having problems registering with THE XL FORUM.
The reason for this is because many of the users of these email services have sent complaints to NETSCAPE, COMPUSERVE, OPTONLINE or EXCITE about email they receive from xlforum.net instead of logging onto XLFORUM.NET and unsubscribing from admin and automatic emails sent by The XL Forum.
Therefore I have banned all NETSCAPE, COMPUSERVE, OPTONLINE or EXCITE email addresses from registering on The XL Forum. I have to do this because of all the failed email messages addressed to aol.com, netscape.com and cs.com that are clogging the xlforum.net email server which slows down email to XL Forum members who have email accounts from email providers that do not block xlforum.net email.
This does not mean that NETSCAPE, COMPUSERVE, OPTONLINE or EXCITE email users can not register and participate in The XL Forum, but to do so they will need to use a different email account. I recommend Googlemail which is a free email account you can register for at
www.googlemail.com.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you register with THE XL FORUM you will almost immediately get a confirmation email from this website. In the email there is a link that you need to click which allows us to verify your email address. You must click on the email link within 24 hours or your membership with THE XL FORUM will not be activated.
If you are an NETSCAPE, COMPUSERVE, OPTONLINE or EXCITE user you may need to copy and paste the link. The problem is that the confirmation email is going into your JUNK, BULK, or SPAM folder and you never see it .
What you need to do is after registering with THE XL FORUM is check your regular inbox for the confirmation email. If you do not see it within 5 to 10 minutes go to your junk, bulk, or spam folder and find the email. Then click on the link.
You also need to configure your email to not filter emails from @xlforum.net and
xlforumadmin@xlforum.net otherwise you will not get notification for any forum topic that you are subscribed to.
This will happen with many of the free email accounts that have automatic email filtering. If you still have problems logging on or registering please contact the site administrator.
